DC Sail

  We were able to host 10 children from SW on board our schooner,  "American Spirit" for a week of Schooner Camp. The children all have  hardship issues that just tears at one's heart. For instance, three  siblings attended camp after having recently lost their sole parent,  their mother, to cancer. The community and their church helped by  bringing the children to camp, providing safe transport, as well as  lunches and other sundries they needed each day. The kids were very shy  at first, but truly blossomed after the second day on the water. By the  end of the week, one exclaimed they want to learn to be a captain of  their own ship one day!
